The Tomb of the Unknown Hippie is a memorial garden located in Talkeetna Alaska. It pays homage to many Talkeetna old-timers, along with the large transient population that filters in and out of the town.
History
The Tomb of the Unknown Hippie was originally conceived in the 1980s after a night of drinking at the historic Fairview Inn. Over the years a series of different planters have been constructed as part of the Tomb. In 2023 a permanent display was installed.
Location
The Tomb can be located in the Talkeetna City Park, 13653 E Main St, Talkeetna, AK 99676. You can find the Tomb in the Southwest corner of the park, across from the Fairview and Nagley’s.
